There is a stark reality facing foster youth as they age out or step into adulthood. The reality is, not a lot of resources exist to prepare them for the next phase of life. But, there are crucial things caregivers can do now to help foster youth transition into adulthood. This is the topic of our discussion on this week's episode of The Honestly Adoption Podcast.

You may not realize this, but we have an opportunity to make change for foster youth who are stepping into adulthood. We can raise our voices, contact our congressmen and women, write letters, attend statehouse legislature meetings, and get involved in advocacy projects all to bring resources and awareness to the needs of foster youth becoming adults. Our guest today, is Jai McClean, who has dedicated her life to advocating for key policy changes for youth who are stepping out of foster care and into the next phase of their lives.

A little more about Jai McClean…

Jai McClean is a former foster youth, advocate, author and speaker. She offers consulting services to foster care organizations to assist them with how they can get involved to incite positive policy changes, mentoring foster youth to prepare them for college and connect with foster care agencies in their community.
