There are moments when, as foster parents, we feel helpless and out of control, and then there are moments when God shows who is really in control. This is one of them. Through a four year journey, my wife and I were blessed to adopt our precious son, Daniel, on October 18, 2013.
Daniel’s story came our way at the perfect time. This past Thursday Mike wrote a post called 6 Things You Can Expect After You Become Foster Parents. The post centered on the extreme difficulties foster parents face, but also the overwhelming beauty that shows up unexpectedly on the journey.
Foster care has its ups and downs and can, at times, take the life out of you. But, there is beauty in everything. Even in hopeless situations, as Daniel’s story clearly proves. What an amazing journey.
