Gossip hurts. Gossip is no fun and it tears someone down quicker than the blink of an eye. My family has been through the ringer with this one. That’s why I’m asking politely…please mind your own business!
We’ve said it a million times on this blog: foster care and adoption are hard roads to travel. The emotional toll it takes on you is insurmountable. But what happens when your mind and heart betray you and you think thoughts you would never share openly?
Sometimes, as foster and adoptive parents, we’re pushed over the edge and we lose our cool with our children. How do you pick up the pieces and move forward after you’ve failed your children?
The adoption journey, for us, has been filled with many unique and exciting moments. A few of those moments happened several years ago when we adopted our two oldest daughters. We couldn’t imagine a more beautiful storyline to add to our family.
The longer you’re a parent, especially within the foster or adoption circle, the greater the likelihood you will encounter judgmental people. We’ve been through the ringer with this. However, there are a few ways you can respond that puts you in a better place emotionally, physically and spiritually!

You feel a mixture of anger and compassion. You want to scream at the child who is bullying yours, but also scoop your hurting child into your arms. In these sensitive moments, how do you respond when your child is the victim of bullying?
